Curriculum and Syllabus Consulting
I advise higher education institutions and advanced music programmes on curriculum and syllabus development in contemporary music, with a focus on applied learning, ensemble fluency, aural fluency, rhythm pedagogy, and assessment design. My work spans jazz-informed approaches, improvisation, contemporary theory, practice-led learning, and curriculum structures that connect musicianship with higher education standards.
This work draws on doctoral training in music education, contemporary performance, and curriculum innovation, alongside experience designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate music modules across LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore Raffles Music College, and earlier private higher-education contexts. I also develop internal syllabi for principal study teaching, creative workshop modules, ensemble coaching, and practice-led musicianship.
Current curriculum work includes advanced brush technique, rhythm-section pedagogy, genre-inclusive theory, aural fluency, and practice-led research design. This work connects directly with my doctoral research in Curriculum Innovation and Pedagogic Design. My approach is research-informed, musically grounded, and designed for real-world application across higher education, conservatoire-adjacent, and advanced professional training contexts.
If your institution, department, or programme is launching, updating, or reshaping a music curriculum, whether as a single module, assessment framework, or full academic strand, I can contribute to the design process.
