Artist-in-Residence & Visiting Clinician

Dr Eugene Seow is available for short-term Artist-in-Residence or Visiting Clinician engagements with universities, conservatoires, schools, and arts organisations seeking an experienced educator-performer for intensive, high-impact projects.

Residencies can include:

  • Ensemble direction (jazz, pop, hybrid, rhythm-section)

  • Repertoire development and performance coaching

  • Creative workshops and interdisciplinary sessions

  • Rhythm-based studies: groove, improvisation, brush technique, global time-feel

  • Staff development sessions in contemporary pedagogy

These engagements may be structured around school arts weeks, conservatoire intensives, festival outreach, curriculum pilots, or project-based collaborations. Dr Seow works comfortably with both student groups and teaching staff.

Dr Seow’s professional background spans performance, ensemble direction, curriculum design, and postgraduate supervision. His credentials include a Doctor of Music Education (DME), fellowships in percussion, electric bass, and contemporary piano, a Licentiate in Drum Kit, and extensive practice-led research in rhythm pedagogy and ensemble fluency. He brings a cross-instrumental, research-informed, and practice-grounded approach to all residency formats.

Engagements may take the form of single-day visits, multi-day intensives, or extended project-based residencies.
