Practice-led research in ensemble cognition, rhythm pedagogy, and contemporary music education

Dr Eugene Seow is a Singapore-based practice-led researcher, higher-education supervisor, and rhythm-pedagogy specialist working across curriculum innovation, ensemble cognition, and contemporary music education. Known for his cross-instrumental fluency and research-informed approach to ensemble work, he teaches and supervises at multiple higher-education institutions, with a portfolio spanning dissertation advising, curriculum development, and applied creative practice.

His current programme of research contributes to the development of an emerging, practice-led framework (provisionally described as Structural Momentum Theory (SMT)) which integrates rhythmic, timbral, modal/tuning, harmonic, embodied, and ensemble/ecological dimensions of musical momentum.
