Teacher Training & CPD Workshops
I offer teacher training and professional development (CPD) workshops for music educators who want to refresh or extend their teaching practice beyond conventional exam-focused methods. These sessions are designed to be musically grounded and practically useful, with a focus on creativity, rhythm fluency, and responsive pedagogy.

Core themes include rhythm-based learning, ensemble leadership, improvisation, and the integration of world music approaches but every session is shaped with real teaching contexts in mind. The aim is always to provide strategies that are engaging, adaptable, and musically sound.

While my primary work is in higher education, these workshops are equally relevant for school music departments, private academies, and individual instructors. I’ve worked with postgraduate pedagogy students, ensemble directors, and private teachers alike, and I tailor each session to the needs and goals of the participants. Workshops can focus on foundational techniques for less experienced educators, or more exploratory and student-driven approaches for those with an established teaching practice.

I draw from a broad teaching background that includes postgraduate module instruction at Singapore Raffles Music College, ensemble direction at NTU and NUS, and long-term private work with both diploma-track students and neurodiverse learners. This varied experience informs an approach that is open, practical, and rooted in real-world musicianship.

Workshops can be delivered as short intensives or developed into multi-session programmes. If your institution or department is looking to run a professional development session, a creative teaching seminar, or a skills-building initiative for your faculty, I’d be glad to contribute.
