Eugene offers one-off or regular lessons for all. Whether a professional or amateur player, he will work with you to find a suitable pace and style that is to your liking.

Lessons may be in the areas of Drum Set/Percussion/Piano/Electric Bass/Composition & Arranging/Music Theory. Eugene has prepared students for ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool Practical and Theory exams. Please refer to the About tab for details regarding his professional credentials.

Drum Set:

  • Instruction for graded exams up to diploma and beyond

  • Jazz and World Drumming like Swing, Jazz Waltz, Afrocuban 12/8, Songo and more

  • Rock/Pop/Metal styles and more

  • Brush Technique at an advanced level for any style including Rock, Funk and Latin

  • Chart Reading and Interpretation in all types of music

  • Improvisation in any style

World Percussion:

  • The Peruvian/Spanish Cajon, with reference to contemporary rock and pop grooves, as well as traditional rhythms like Lando and Flamenco palos like Buleria

​

Classical Percussion

  • Instruction for graded exams up to grade 8

  • Rudimental Snare Drum studies

  • Auxiliary instruments such as Crash Cymbals, Concert Bass Drum, Triangle, Tambourine and more

  • Ensemble playing tips in Concert Band/Orchestra/Marching Band and more

Piano/Keyboard

  • Instruction for pop/rock piano up to grade 8 or for leisure

  • Instruction for classical piano up to grade 5 or for leisure

  • Instruction for jazz piano up to grade 5 or for leisure

Bass

  • Instruction for electric bass up to grade 8 or for leisure

  • Jazz, Rock or Pop focus available

Theory/Composition/Arranging:

  • Instruction for classical graded exams up to grade 5

  • Jazz Harmony (with reference to the syllabus of Berklee College of Music) ranging from the principles of blues to multi-tonic systems and etc.

  • Arranging Techniques for small to large ensembles from jazz trios to full string orchestras, including the idiosyncrasies of woodwind, brass, string, percussion and rhythm section instruments and how to write for them

  • Composition Techniques to generate effective melodies, coherent harmonies, and established forms

  • Prospective Berklee Student pre-enrollment preparation courses available

Fees

All fees are displayed in Singapore Dollars.

$70/half-hour or $120/hour + $20 misc fee for travel etc. (online lessons enjoy discount)
